Ocean City is a hotspot for golfers of all levels, and there are many great courses near the beach. Several of the courses on this list have been staples for years for those making the trip. A few other, such as Plantation, are worth making the trip on your next visit.
Here are 11 of the best golf course you can play on your next trip to Ocean City, Maryland.
The Links at Lighthouse Sound
12723 St. Martin'S Neck Road, Bishopville, Md 21813
The Links at Lighthouse Sound, which opened in 2000, is the home of the United States’ longest cart bridge, which spans nearly 1,500 feet.
The only two consecutive holes in the United States, all of which are played to the same double green, are on this 18-hole course.The par five, second plays 508 yards and the par three, third 190 yards to a 16,000 square foot green set along the Assawoman Bay.
The Par five fifth hole, which is set over a marsh and has water on three sides, is the signature hole. This hole runs from 89 to 218 yards, and it also offers beautiful vistas of the Ocean City skyline.
The back nine holes are played along the St. Martin’s River and through the ancient trees and marshland, which have remained untouched for millennia. The 11th and 12th holes are adjacent to the river.
Rum Pointe Golf Course
7000 Rum Pointe Lane, Berlin, MD 21811
The lone area course with bent grass on the fairways and greens is this Scottish-style links. At least 17 of the 18 holes have a bay view, with several having direct bay frontage, allowing you to start your ball over the water if you would like and try and shorten the hole.
The Dyes’ course design has certainly produced risks and potential for gain that will quicken even the most seasoned golfer’s pulse. From the back tees, this championship course is capable of hosting a PGA Tour event but friendly enough from the middle tees to appeal to players at every handicap level.

Baywood Greens

The 18-hole championship golf course is “Exclusively Public” and close to Rehoboth Beach. Come discover what’s been called the “Augusta of Delaware.”
The course is open to the public all year. It has two 18-hole courses, both of which are open to the public.
The championship 18-hole Woodlands Golf Course is in Long Neck, Delaware, and it has a challenging layout with lots of water.
The meticulously manicured woodside and waterside nines have eight timbered bridges, 27 acres of man-made ponds, two tunnels, and over 200 acres of natural wetlands.
This course is located in Long Neck, Delaware and offers two different 18-hole courses: Woodlands and Water’s Edge.
Bear Trap Dunes

The Bear Trap Dunes Golf Club in Delaware is one of the Eastern Shore’s most unique and memorable golf experiences, located just 3 miles west of Bethany Beach.
On this unspoiled natural golf course, the fairways are lined with wild grasses from local wetlands that drift into stunning sand dunes.

Plantation Lakes Golf and Country Club

Of all of the courses we recommend in the Ocean City area, this may be the one we are most excited about. Mostly because so few people have heard about this outstanding course.
Plantation Lakes is a lovely, unique, and challenging 18-hole Arthur Hills designed Championship Golf Course that will challenge golfers of all skill levels.
From the back tees, the visually stimulating layout measures out to 6,661 yards with a course rating of 72.3 and a slope of 139. Plantation Lakes is quickly becoming one of the most enjoyable golfing experiences on the Eastern Shore with some of the truest putting surfaces in Maryland.
GlenRiddle Golf Club – War Admiral Course

War Admiral is the sister course of Man O’War, which runs through mature wood and provides a distinct golfing experience.
The tees of this course provide a significant test from every angle. The fairways are well-protected by trees, but the wind is still a challenge on most days. The site’s breathtaking tidal marsh comes into play on five breathtaking holes, some of which offer stunning vistas.
The War Admiral Course’s trademark is its spectacular, ancient-style bunkers. The course’s back tees measure 72 and 6,889 yards in length.
Ocean City Golf Club – Seaside

Seaside Course
Ocean City Golf Club’s Seaside Course, which was founded in 1959, is one of the region’s most well-known courses and has been a popular course visitors and members alike.
The Seaside’s distinctive layout, wide open fairways, and traditional tightly guarded greens have endeared it to free-swinging golfers off the beaten path.
Ocean City Golf Club is located in Berlin, Maryland and features an 18-hole Seaside Course, along with a nine-hole Links Course.
Nutters Crossing Golf Course

Nutters Crossing Golf Course is a lot of fun. The 90-degree rule is in place most of the year, allowing you to hit your shot.
To rolling greens designed to USGA standards, the fairways are adorned with exquisite lush grasses that roll gently over sloping hills, pass eight water hazards and two large ponds.
Welcoming golfers of all ages and abilities, this course provides a great round of golf at an affordable price.
Don’t be fooled by the small back tee yardage. Even the most experienced player will be pushed to his or her limit with water on at least a dozen holes.
Nutters Crossing is the crème of the crop in a luxurious residential area only minutes from Ocean City.
Ocean Pines Golf and Country Club

The Delmarva Peninsula’s only championship golf course, designed by the legendary Robert Trent Jones, Sr., is located at Ocean Pines Golf & Country Club.
Ocean Pines Golf and Country Club is a beautiful 18-hole course, which has been rated by the Maryland State GC as one of the top-ten courses in the state.
Enjoy a game of golf on this difficult 18-hole championship course set in natural marshes and picturesque forests. This course challenges players of all skill levels, ages, and abilities to put their golfing skills to the test on this path that slices through indigenous pines and natural marshlands.

Glen Riddle Golf Club – Man O War

The Man O’War Golf Course is located in GlenRiddle and is the westernmost of its kind. The golf course offers unadulterated views of the ocean and is surrounded with wetlands.
The course itself is also considered to be one of Maryland’s best, as it has been named in the Top 100 Golf Courses by Maryland and it has also been ranked #14 Best in State by “Golf Digest.”
The golfer must confront challenges such on the enormous greens, twin fairways, pot bunkers, sand dunes, and perennial eastern shore winds that can be extremely strong and gusty.
The beauty of the course is that there are no homes or commercial buildings in view, creating a serene and tranquil environment.
On three holes, the historic racing track is used as a strategic cross hazard.
The Man O’War golf course measures 7,163 yards from the back tees and has a par of 72.
Bayside Resort Golf Club

Bayside Resort Golf Club is Delaware’s first Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, located just west of Fenwick Island and 4 miles from the beach.
The course itself is a spectacular 18-hole championship golf course, designed by the legendary Jack Nicklaus. It offers beautiful views of the ocean and wetlands, as well as challenging play for all levels of golfers.
This course is known to be one of the best in the Mid-Atlantic states and is perfect for golfers of all levels, whether you’re a novice or an expert.
The course recently underwent some renovations to add to the already beautiful landscape and to fix some of its original design flaws.
The golf course is located just minutes from Fenwick Island, Delaware and Ocean City, Maryland.
